Auron Expeditions was founded in 1994 during a time when
only adventurous travelers dare to visit. Auron Tare was instrumental in
establishing Butrint National Park which today is considered the “gem of
country” as well as one of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.
Today there are only two World Heritage sites that exist in Albania,
Butrint National Park and the City of Gjirokastra.
The team at Auron Expeditions has spent several years facilitating a number of
special interest groups coming to Albania. One of the first expeditions
organized was for Smithsonian Museum. Auron Expeditions reputation of organizing
unique tours and special events while always leaving their clients with the
‘best experience’ possible when visiting the country. They have worked with
Save Venice Foundation, National Geographic, British Museum, Institute
of Nautical Archaeology, Religious Science and Environment Foundation, UNESCO,
World Bank, Oak Foundation, Packard Humanity, and USA National Park Service,
to name a few. They are actively involved with developing sustainable programs
with organizations such as BCTV and developing “voluntour”
